You may have noticed the sudden halt in content being added
to the site, this is not for lack of it, but I am out of town for
the week. I will be back Saturday and expect to do a mass
update Sunday night. There are some wonderful photos and
art that need to be added as well as some links.
Thank you for the continued support.

All are welcome, regardless of relation to Rory.
Long-time friends to casual shoppers of the store-

Comic Relief will be holding a memorial service for Rory; it was proposed that we hold it on June 21st to try to coincide with the travel plans of the many that would be traveling to attend the ALA Conference in LA beginning June 26th. June 21st is also the date that the Root family intends to hold their day-time service, and we had hoped to hold their night-time service on the same date. Unfortunately, many individuals have informed us this date conflicts with those who would be attending Heroes Convention in North Carolina.
There is now a poll on the main page that you may use to vote for the date that you believe you would be able to attend. The dates available to us are June 14th and June 21st. The poll will close Wednesday night at 11:59pm. Please do not vote more than once. We will post our final date on Thursday. Our decision will be based on the number of votes as well as our ability to hold it on the specific date.
We recognize that no matter what date we set there is the probability that there will be people who will want to attend but cannot and we hope that you will understand and support us in whatever date we choose.
If you are a member of a forum that would be interested in attending please link to the page, we need to get as many people to let us know their availability as possible.
Thank you again for your continued support.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the kind words and their condolences. It has been a very unexpected and emotional time for us. And what with mom breaking her ankle, a very stressful time . We are tenatively planning a Memorial On June 21st. We would like it to occur at Joaquin Miller Park in the Oakland hills. Need to check with city of Oak. re. reserving/rental? of the park. We felt a potluck luncheon seemed appropriate, knowing how Rory seemed to get people to cook for him or bring him goodies. We also are going to scatter Rory’s ashes at sea/bay and thought perhaps people would want to attend that also. Of course this all hinges on MOM being well enough by then. Ideas and help are welcome.
Again, thank you to everyone who thinks so highly of Rory.
Nancy, Karen, Ron, Roger

Thanks to Dylan Williams who signed the guest book with this
link to “I Read Comics - Podcast #23″ that featured Rory.
That lead me to create another link category that
will contain sites that feature Rory’s posts, so please
email me anything (text/audio/video) you might have to
RRmemorial@gmail.com and I will link to it.

I can not apologize enough for this; Rory Root was
born in 1957, not 1958 as previously posted on this
site. November 8th, 1957 at 8:32pm to be exact.

Rory’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks
to everyone who has shown their support.
Unfortunately Rory’s mother has suffered a fall
that will require surgery and will postpone their service
arrangements until further notice.
As per Rory’s wishes he is to be cremated.
More information regarding memorial services will be
posted as soon as it becomes available to me.
I would also like to apologize to anyone who has
visited the site and encountered errors, I hope everything
is working now but if not please do not hesitate to email
me at RRmemorial@gmail.com
